What is Petroleum?

Aloha Class?

What is Petroleum? Why is it so important to our modern lives, that we are willing to go to war over it?

In unit 3 Section A we begin our discussion with what is petroleum, and how petroleum use is so prevalent in our lives, that without it our lives would change. Everything from gas to our card, to clothing, to the additives in our food begin with petroleum.

We will then look at the chemistry of petroleum and petroleum refining. We will then learn about the different compounds that are found in petroleum.
This is your introduction to the field of organic chemistry.
